textDescription

Starmie gives an aggressive start with a free retreat for easy swaps. Misty of course can grant a huge swing in tempo, however she is more than fuel for only Blastoise. To allow Misty to attach even a single energy to Staryu she effectively negates the second turn advantage of energy attachment and allows us to attack for 20 on turn 1 converting into a turn 2 90 damage with Starmie, giving us a breakout run with 110 total damage. Articuno is here as an additional basic and slightly bigger wall as the main gameplan is to get an attacker up and then sit and powerup our Blastoise to finish out the game with its huge 5 energy atk that can even knockout opposing Charizard ex at full hp. There is a case to swap a Sabrina for Giovanni in order fot a chance to possibly hit that 120 threshold for Pickachu ex, with a Staryu to Starmie ex combo. However, that feels a little too inconsistent but not in the realm of unlikely. It is also debatable to swap the Articuno ex with its baby counterpart, however you trade a turn 2 atk with the need to attach 3 energy for baby Articuno's atk in which case why not use the ex-variant if your goal is still use attach 3 energy for a atk. But I cannot deny that at least making the swap to baby Articuno means that is a single prize loss compared to a double prize point loss with Articuno ex.
